Printer Friendly Printer Friendly Version

Step 1 — Download and Install Karen’s Replicator

You can download Karen’s replicator from http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp .

Once you have downloaded the program, double-click ptreplicator.exe and go through the install process by accepting all default settings and clicking the Next buttons as they arrive on the wizard.

Step 2 — Set up your external drive

If you haven’t already connected your external drive, do so now. Once you have it connected and it appears in your My Computer window, you're ready to go. Mine happens to look like this when mounted:

You'll also want to make sure that you have a subfolder on your external drive to which you can back up your files. Karen’s Replicator will handle the creation of folders within your backup directory, but you must specify where to put them. To do so, open your external drive by using your My Computer icon and then double-clicking on the drive icon for it.

My Computer shows the backup drive

Once you get the contents of your external drive in front of you, click on the Make a new folder link at the left and name your folder whatever you want. I called mine Documents.
