Step 5 — Run your initial backup

Your screen should now look something like this. Highlight your My Documents job by clicking on it and then click the Run Highlighted Jobs Now button. This will start the backup which will look like this:

Go have a cup of coffee or do something that doesn’t have to do with your computer while this runs the first time. It’ll be slow because it actually has to copy everything to your external drive. However, subsequent backups will be rather quicker.

Once the backup is done, you can safely close Karen’s Replicator. To do another backup, connect your hard drive, open Karen’s Replicator, highlight the first job and hit Run Highlighted Jobs Now. The program will back up any changes that you have made since you last ran Replicator.
