Now, for those who want Karen’s Replicator to back things up at a scheduled time, you will have to have Replicator running at all times to make this work. What this means is that you will have to set Karen’s Replicator up to start when your system starts. The easiest way to do this is to copy the Replicator icon from its folder in the Start menu to the Start > All Programs > Startup folder.
Once you’ve done this, start Replicator and set up the jobs to run at scheduled intervals. To do this you’ll want to go back and edit your already created job. When you come to the Edit Job screen, check the enabled checkbox and click the Change Schedule... button to set up when your backup is to run.
Once you click this, you will be presented with a dialog that allows you to set when you want the job to run. I have scheduled this job to run weekly at 15:00 hours:
Once you save the changes by clicking on all the Save buttons, you will be returned to the main Replicator window where you will want to make sure that the checkbox next to your backup job is checked. Unless you do this the scheduled job won’t run.
Now you can minimize Replicator and go on with your daily work. Just be sure to have your external drive plugged in before the job is scheduled to run or else you can run into serious trouble.
