It’s interesting how God will often have to bring us back again and again to lessons we thought we’d learned. For me it was another lesson in trusting Him. I’m not a very trusting person to begin with, being a control freak of sorts. Anything I can’t control I don’t trust. God is one of those “things”.

While having my quiet time at GO Conference God showed me that one morning in Psalm 91: “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” (NIV) Reading through that brought me to another realization. Trust is an acronym. It stands for

To
Rely
Upon
Someone
Totally.

Be this God or a person, trusting them means that I keep my hands off and let them go the way they think best. No more controlling or worrying from my side. It takes no more than a simple commitment. And let me say, true trust is very freeing.
